The Longest Yard (2005)

PLOT

Back in his prime, Paul “Wrecking” Crewe (Adam Sandler) was the quarterback everyone loved. But when accused of shaving points off a football game, he was out of the picture and hasn’t been seen in action since. One night when his obnoxious girlfriend tries to get him to attend her party while he’s in the middle of watching a football game. Then he tricks her into going into the closet for a “gift” he had stashed away for her and locks her inside. Then he takes her car out for a drive (even though he’s extremely drunk and paranoid). He’s later stopped by the police, but proceeds his wreckless driving anyway, only to end up in a huge massacre that ends with the car being completely killed and surrounded by thousands of policeman all over television! Crewe is later sent to Allenville State Penitantry where he meets the gruesome guardsmen headed by Captain Knauer (William Foryster) and commanded by the sleazy Warden Hazen (James Cromwell). After spending a week in the hotbox, Hazen recruits him to help out with the guards football team. But despite Crewe’s previous refusal, he decides to organize a “fixed game” in which the prison inmates [under Crewe's leadership along with the helpful support of Caretaker (Chris Rock) and legendary football coach Nate Scarborough (Burt Reynolds)] will organize a football team of their own for a game of football against the guards. This is the moment every convict has been waiting for: a free shot against the guards. The one chance for one day to take a stand in the misdt of a contact sport and fight back! Now the guards are about to get something they had coming to them for a long time: Payback by the inmates! Of course, Crewe dosen’t expect his boys to stand a chance against Hazen’s Guards. But come game day, it takes a valuable lesson in self-respect and pride to learn that in order to get your second chance, you have take it like there’s no tommorow or the next twenty-five years in Allenville Prison.

The Waterboy (1998)

PLOT

31-year-old waterboy, Bobby Boucher is constantly tormented by the team he works for until he is fired by the coach. He then finds a new coach to work for. Here he finds a new talent, tackling people by pretending they’re making fun of them. Soon, he becomes the best linebacker in college football, but he must keep it secret from his overprotective mother.

The Wedding Singer (1998)

PLOT

Robbie (Adam Sandler), a one time rock star, has now become a popular local wedding singer, and after his girlfriend Linda (Angela Featherstone) dumps him the day of his wedding, he goes into severe “love withdrawal.” Meanwhile, Julia (Drew Barrymore), who works as a waitress, finally gets a wedding date set to her long-time fiance Glenn (Matthew Glave), who is quite the ladies man despite the fact that he is in a relationship with Julia. Since Glenn isn’t too excited about the prospect of getting married, Julia enlists the help of her friend Robbie to get things ready for the wedding, and in the process they both begin to fall in love with each other. However, when Julia gets hurt by Robbie in a series of misunderstandings, she changes plans and runs off with Glenn to get married in Las Vegas. Desperate to make things right with the love of his life, Robbie chases Julia and Glenn, ending up on the same plane they’re on, and with the help of the crew and Billy Idol, he woos Julia and they get married soon after that, living happily ever after.

Happy Gilmore (1996)

PLOT

Happy Gilmore is a rowdy boy, who was raised by his grandmother. He wants to be a hockey player but isn’t because of one thing, he can’t skate. When his grandmother’s house is foreclosed cause of her failure to pay her taxes, and she’s placed in a retirement home, Happy must try and find a way to make some money. One day while at a driving range, he discovers that he can hit a golf ball a hundred feet, so the range pro, convinces him to try being a pro golfer. Reluctant at first, because he considers himself a hockey player, but when he learns he can make a lot of money, he gives it a try and surprisingly, in addition to his amazing driving ability, his antics have made him the darling of the crowd. Shooter McGavin the tournament leader, thinks that Happy’s an embarrassment and is jealous that he is stealing his spotlight, tries to get him thrown out or get him to quit.

Airheads (1994)

PLOT

Heavy metal trio The Lone Rangers haven’t had much luck getting their songs heard. During their last desperate trip to a radio station they bring along some genuine looking water pistols and spontaneously pull them out when they’re turned down again. One of the workers at the station escapes being taken hostage and calls the police, and a long standoff ensues until the Rangers can play their tape, which the lead singer gave to his now ex-girlfriend.
